CardioThoraxia is a clinical literature search application designed for cardiothoracic surgery. We are committed to minimizing data collection and protecting user privacy.

Data We Collect

Identifiers

The following identifiers may be collected and stored:

• User ID (provided by Sign in with Apple)
• Email Address (if shared via Sign in with Apple)
• Device Token (for push notifications, if enabled)

Search Queries

Search terms entered in the app are transmitted to PubMed (National Library of Medicine) to retrieve literature results. These queries are not sold or used for advertising.

How Data Is Used

Collected data is used solely for:

• Account authentication
• App functionality
• Delivery of push notifications (if enabled)
• Providing AI-generated abstract summaries

Data Linked to You

Identifiers (User ID, email address, and device token) are linked to your account and stored securely using Back4App (Parse Server).

This data is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.

Tracking

CardioThoraxia does not use tracking technologies for advertising purposes and does not track users across third-party apps or websites.

AI Insight

AI Insight summaries are generated using PubMed abstract text and metadata only. No full-text articles are accessed. No personal health information is collected.

Third-Party Services

CardioThoraxia relies on the following services:

• Apple Sign in with Apple (authentication)
• Back4App (secure backend data storage)
• PubMed API (National Library of Medicine)

Data Security

All communications are encrypted using HTTPS. Data is stored on secure servers managed by Back4App.

Data Retention

Account identifiers and device tokens are retained as long as the account remains active. Users may request deletion by contacting support.

Children’s Privacy

CardioThoraxia is intended for use by medical professionals and trainees. It is not directed toward children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
